What test are done the day of surgery to see if you followed liquid protein diet?

I don't think there are any- the point of the liquid diet is to shrink all
of your organs- I have heard of people who did not follow the liquid diet
not being able to have the laproscopic procedure and instead had to be cut
open.
I hope that helps.

I think if anything the day of surgery they do bloodwork. The liquid diet
is to shrink your liver. I hope this helps.

It does help shrink your liver and if the DR. suppects it wasn't followed
he will cancel. I have a relative who was on the table, cut open ready to
go and the DR. closed her up and said you didn't follow my instructions and
I'm not doing it, come back when your serious about this. (he did wait till
she woke up, fully). I'm not sure how he knew but he knew. Hope that
helps, I have to Optifast for 2 weeks right over Christmas, but I know it
is worth it.

No tests are done "before" surgery, but once the surgeon starts
working in there, he or she will be able to tell by the shrinkage or lack
of shrinkage of your liver. I was told if it was still to enlarged, they
would stop the procedure and reschedule.

there isn't a test per say. but the diet is to shrink your liver and help
remove fat from u r liver. this is done to help your surgery go better,
recover better etc. If you are thinking of cheating your self and your
recovery now... I think you should reconsider even having surgery!

I have to agree with everyone, there is no way of knowing if you cheated.
If you cannot follow a week or two of simple instructions what makes you
think you can follow some instructions the rest of your life?
Maybe you should reconsider having surgery at this point in your life. If
you are determined then stop playing games and do what you are suppose to
do because no one else is going to do it for you.
Good luck and I hope for the best.

My surgeon didn't make me go on a liquid diet except for 24 hours before
the surgery. Losing weight before surgery does help make it easier though
for the surgeon to get around inside you.

Hi Shannon, looks like we are having surgery on the same day this coming
monday. I have been on the liquid diet for the past 2 weeks and still
worry that my liver won't shrink enough or something. If you've been
cheating, better start buckling down, even though I haven't cheated, I
still plan to drink water water water and get exercise over the weekend to
ensure that they can go ahead with surgery. Start drinking water now! And
exercise!
