Question:
Anyone know of any non-sweet protein drinks?

I am just not a "sweet" food person and just can not take the sweetness of the protein shakes. Does anyone make anything that is not Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry? This seems to be all I can find as high protein foods go. I searched on the internet and came up with more hits that I could have imagined when I typed in high protein shakes/food    — Teresa J. Unjury has a chicken soup and an unflavored protein powder. You can order individual sample packs to try. You can add the unflavored to anything. I ordered them but I haven't tried either one yet. Here is the site: https://www.unjury.com/ssl/purchasing.php I think you'll be happy with these. Each serving has 20gm of protein Good luck.

there is also a powder called any whey. It is supposed to be non-flavored but it does have sort of a dairy taste so it would be good if you wanted to make your own smoothies or add it to sf pudding etc

How about coffee flavor? This is what I have for breakfast every day: 8 oz skim milk heated to almost boiling. Take a couple of ounces of warm water mix one scoop of chocolate protein powder and large spoon of instant coffee and a pinch of cinnamon in my Magic Bullet and then pour in the hot milk. This has about 39 gms of protein. You can also get unflavored whey protein and put it in V8 or Tomato Juice. Add little Tabasco and Worcestershire Sauce and you have a Virgin Protein Mary.

I have tried and find I do like the Unjury Chicken Broth protein. It tastes really good mixed in warmed up V8 juice and I have also added it to chicken broth to boost the protein of the broth. You could also add it to scrambled egg but in all cases mix it in before warming it up or cooking the egg.

I was getting tried of the protein shakes. I wanted something different. There is a protein shake at the Vitamin Shop called Nectar. I bought Fuzzy Navel. They also have differnent flavors. I have even mixed the Wal-Mart Lemonade with it and it is great too. Nector mixes easy with water and a spoon.

I use the New Whey protein bullet. It is 42 g in a oz liquid. That way even if I don't like the taste I can treat it like meds.

Kroger's grocery store has a yogurt that has 12 grams of protein called Carbmaster. It is put out by Kroger. It is also very low in fat sugar and carbs.

unjury make a unflavored one that you can add to your jello or pudding or anything you eat and still get your protein. Here is the web site. I use their shakes and love them. They do not have the schaky taste. http://www.unjury.com/

I would recommend finding your protein another way. I am two years out and have NEVER had a protein shake. My doctor is dead set against them and recommends that we get our protein through our food. I added some powdered milk to my pureed food in the beginning, but now I eat my meat first to be sure I am getting enough protein. Seafood, chicken, pork are all high in protein. I would also try yogert. Some are higher than others in protein and you can add some powdered milk to that as well and then blend it up..... Good luck!!!

I use either PURE NUTRITION which comes in a natural (unflavored) and choc, etc. There are a lot of non flavored protein powders - try a health food store and there will be more variety to choose from. Vickie

If all else fails Medifast has soups and coffee like drinks that are high in protein, low carb, high fiber. You might give them a try, the chicken noodle and creamed broccoli are my favorites, but I also like the tomato and love their chili (but I add a little salsa to it) and their stew is pretty good too. Good luck, I am not a sweet person either and these have worked for me (but I do actually like their ready to eat chocolate shake).

Wow, that protein powder unflavored gelatin mix sounds so good because I, too, get so sick of every protein drink being the 3 standard flavors. All sweet, none savory. One time I was so desperate that I put a little garlic powder in the vanilla one, just to try to alter the flavor from being sweet, well it was so terrible. I had to throw it away after first laughing for a good 5 minutes. But this product sounds perfect. You could probably add veggies, puree it and make a soup that would fill you up nicely, plus you're getting your needed protein. Great, thanks. ML
