My doctor explained that it is very hard to find someone willing to do a
lap band after a nissen. I also had a failed Nissen and had to have a lap
RNY. I'm a month out of postop and doing well. The doctor had to remove
part of my stomach after un-wrapping the nissen. I also had a hernia
behind the nissen and that was repaired as well. Good luck to you!

A friend of mine had the Nissen surgery and really wanted to to have
Gastric Bypass.. I called my doctor and he said that he would have to undo
the previous surgery then do the gastric bypass. Of course there is the
possibility of MORE complications but it can be done. You may have a hard
time findking a surgeon willing to take on the challenge. For some reason
if you've had previous stomach surgeries a "new" surgeon is
reluctant to do futher work.
