i never felt full... i found out what the size of my pouch was and measured
my foods so i didn't over eat. slowly introduce yourself to the foods,
remember what you tolerated pre op you may not post...your at the trial and
error stage now.. try measuring your foods to the size of your pouch, it
helps.

I am at 3 weeks and am starting to introduce soft foods - cottage cheese,
shrimp cocktail, tuna, crackers, fruit, etc. I try one new thing a day to
every two days - taking it slow. My nut gave us 10 example meals - measured
foods - if you are interested, email me at [email protected]. Like
the other posted suggested - measure your food to the size of your pouch
and do not over eat. I don't necessarily feel full - like traditionally
full, but I do feel fulfilled and satisfied after eating a
"meal".

I had my RNY on 9 Jan. so not far off from you and am on regular foods now.
Start slowly introducing soft foods and as the others have said measure
measure measure. I have been really lucky and had only one incident of
upchucking what I ate and it was because I drank too soon after eating.
Didn't make that mistake again. It is all a learning experience. Chew
everything really well before swallowing and take very small bites when you
move on to regular foods. The feeling of fullness is not the same as before
but as the other writter said you do feel satisfied. If you overeat you
will know it. I get a pain in my uper left chest to start with and at that
I stop because I know if I continue it is going to come up. Lesson learned.
Best of Luck on your journey. You can do it just take it slow and easy. God
Bless

Michelle... hi.. I had my RNY on Halloween.. was introducing soft foods in
week 2-3. It did help with the full feeling. Of course, I had a problem
drinking more than a couple of swallows at a time. I can now drink a
couple of ounces at a time and it makes it easier to get the fluids in.
But advancing will keep your stomach full longer as it will take a little
longer for the food vs liquids to digest. good luck to you and welcome to
the loser's bench... Kari

Michelle, thanks for your question. It is a normal thing for some of us to
fear eating. After all, eating is a real problem and knowing when to stop
and how to avoid and fight those pesky urges to eat and oh the head games,
wow, it is all such a challenge. I am 3 years out, and it is a challenge
every day. Michelle, you need to eat. Soft foods are good for you now,
and it is ok if your doctor says you are ready. Start very slowly and
avoid foods that are too hard right now. Real guilt comes from doing
something wrong. Eating is NOT wrong, so your guilt is false guilt. Maybe
start with warm soups or foods that are through the blender. Small
portions and go slow. You need to eat, so don't be afraid to start. Just
battle one day at a time, and your fight is not just for weight loss, but
for your health. Take care. Patricia P
