Question:
What should I expect from my Psych consult

I am going in for my psych consult on Friday what types of questions will they ask me? I am nervous about this and looking for any info that will help. Thanks    — Joelley26 (posted on December 13, 2010)

My evaluation was mostly her talking to me @ what my expectations were and what I knew of the surgery. They ultimatly want to know your are doing this for the right reasons and not just to wear a bikini. IM me if you have more questions. Take care.

Don't be neryous... they are just trying to feel you out as to your readiness and if they feel you can emotionally handle the surgery... you'll do fine, there are no wrong answers to the questions, just answer honestly! Good Luck Debbie

Like Debbie said, there are no right or wrong answers. If you aren't ready for this major surgery from the answers you give, they will not approve you. But I would relax, and answer honestly. Like I have said many times before in here, this is life CHANGING, psyche yourself out.

I agree with the previous answers. I was all nervous when I went but it just ended up being a nice conversation. She did suggest that I look into things I might want to be involved in socially after the surgery but that wasn't any shock to me. I am sure that I will become more socially active once I start feeling a little better about myself. Good luck!

I experienced the same as everyone above with one exception. I had to take a MMPI test. I administer this test on my job so I knew what it was. Just don't try to outfool the test - it will catch you! Just be honest.
