The longer you stay on liquids, the better chances of you not having any
problems healing. You should be on liquids for the first month or so then
go to thick liquids which can be split pea soup, cream soups, malt o meal
thinned down, items like that. Your pouch really needs to heal slowly,
since it will be swollen and tender for the first 3 months. You don't want
to rush putting any food that is not suitable yet. The flesh hasn't even
healed around the staples yet after 2 months or so. Let me know if I can
be of any other help to you. I am almost 5 yrs post op, no problems post
op and doing well. Kept my weight off and maintain at 138 lbs. Please
feel free to email me.

I was on liquids for a few days and then progressed to "soft"
foods, i.e. scrambled eggs, oatmeal, mashed bananas, etc. Follow your
surgeon's guidelines!!!

I had my surgery 10/19. The first week was clear liquids. Honestly, the
first 4 days I had nothing but water, as everything tasted bad. Now I am
on full liquids (milky) and pureed food - no chunks. My faves are oatmeal
( a bit runny) with protein powder and pureed tuna salad with hard boiled
egg in it.
At the end of week 4, I'm told I can have soft foods (yay, chewing!)
My dietician gave me a document with exactly what I could have and when.
Ask yours if they have something like this...if not, feel free to contact
me and I will scan and email you mine :-)

I think it all depends on your surgeon. I was given a diet to follow from
week 1 through week 7. This is my 3rd week post-op and tomorrow I can start
eating soft pastas, flaky fish, soft vegies and fruits. But your surgeon or
the dietician in his office should have certainly gone over all this with
you by now.
