Question:
Thanks to EVERYONE that replied to my SCARED!
Well my surgery was cancelled today. Didn't pass the breathing test. My Doc said that I could try back in a month. Life works in mysterious ways, doesn't it? I'm going to do a lot of soul searching & if I decide this is right for me I'm going to really set my mind to it. It wasn't the whole surgery thing (had lots of it) it's the not knowing part. Thanks to everyone that helped me through this difficult time. — Lorie S. (posted on May 7, 2008)

Look, I can tell from your email, your surgeon was looking for any reason,
because you don't have your mind right yet to do this. Here is what you
need to do. Go to a support group meeting and talk to other there. If you
went to the hospital today and had apendicides, they would tell you that
you needed surgery now and you would go ahead with it because if you didn't
you could die. We this surgery for RNY or LapBand is no more serious than
that kind of surgery except you have to accept this as a tool and develope
a new healthy life style to achive 100% sucess. You are going to fail until
you can walk up to that surgeon and tell him you have studied what your new
life is going to be like and with hios help you are ready to proceed!
Sorry I have to be so direct, but it is your life you are talking about.
Don't cut it short with fat, change your life style and live a happier and
fuller life then you ever had in the past.. Best of success to you.

My surgery was cancelled because they found I was in atrial fibrillation.
At first I felt so sick I didn't even care. But now I'm ready to try
again. Sometimes we find things that need our attention before we can be
completely prepared for surgery. Good luck on you journey
