Question:
What's the average weight loss for a light weight?
I am 5'1 and started at 208pounds. I had surgery 04-13-06 with no complicaions. I've only lost about 12 pounds. I only eat about 400 calories a day and drink 32oz of liquids. I just can't eat or drink more than that. I try........ Any suggestions? How can I lose this weight faster? I feel fine...I felt so good I came back to work on April 25,2006....:) — leeja (posted on May 3, 2006)

I started out at 220 and at 5'3 was also considered a light-weight, however
I had other issues.. One thing that I noticed with myself and others like
us is the weight comes off slower. I had my surgery on October 22, 2005 and
am now down to 139. I went through many, many plateus though so be prepared
for that. I had to start running to kick-start my weight loss as of
recently. Hang in there and don't get discouraged!! Also do not compare
yourself to others, everyone is different!
Hope that helps,

I am 4'11" and started off at 239, my surgery was 11/1/2005. It has
been 6 months, and I now weigh 182. The last 2 months have been extremely
slow. I am am continuing to do what I am supposed to. I have also
increased my exercise.

You doing fine. When you go in surgery with less weight is normal that your
weight is coming of slower than if you weight more. On the begingin you
lose most water and I guesse that "light weights" don't have as
much as people with more weight. So don't be worry keep going is already
good 12ib in 2 wekks is not bad

I am 5'9 and weighed 278 lbs pre op and I lost only 12 lbs the first 2
weeks post-op, I too am getting frustrated with how slow I'm loosing but
I'm looking on the bright side (not much sagging skin) cause the slower you
loose, the less loose skin. I am now 2 1/2 months post-op and down 42 lbs.
I am starting to feel great and everyone is starting to notice. So, keep
your head up girl! You will loose! ~Melissa
