Question:
What is stoma adjustment?

Hi everyone.I'm new to this site so please bear with me. I am post op now for a little over two years and I am having problems with weight gain and being hungary all the time.Has anyone else noticed that after this long that the orange oily stools have stopped and the appetite has increased not to mention the amount of food I am now able to tolerate.I briefly scanned a message concerning something about a stoma procedure but lost it before I could read all of it. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.    — CAROLE M. (posted on January 27, 2005)

Please feel free to email, I've had this procedure done once already and in fact, I'm getting ready to go back in and have it done for the 2nd time.

I'd be looking into staple line disruption. If your oil slicks have vanished suddenly, there's a good chance you are now absorbing fats/oils that you were not with your distal RNY. And you are 2 yrs out, so perhaps it'd be good to be with others like us. There are several of us with the radical distal that you had, so you won't be alone. Grads are 1+ yrs out from surgery, many of us 5+ years out, having already been revised from earlier surgeries. Here's the link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG
