Take your meds with your protien shake.
You can take a sip of water to swallow your meds when you eat after a
montth.

I would check with your surgeon... you don't mention what medicine this is,
but your surgeon or your pharmacist where you fill your meds can advise
you!!

Buy a pill crusher to make the pills easier to swallow, I then put the pill
in a teaspoon and add a bit of water so I can swallow easier. Then follow
up with a couple sips to flush it all down. I also do this in conjunction
with drinking my protein shake so that my pouch is not empty.

Never crush any med unless you've approved it with a pharmacist. Some are
not meant to be crushed. Also ask for ideas with this problem. Good Luck!

Talk with your doctor.
I had one medication that I've taken for years that had to be eaten with
food or else it caused severe stomach problems. In my case, it was
basically determining which of the evils I wanted to coupe with. Tsking
the meds and their side effects or the actual problem I was treating. The
consensus between the doctor and I was the cure was worse than the problem
and the meds were stopped.
Now, for all the other pills us WLS post op folks take, I usually take them
immediately before I eat. At least then, there will be food coming in a
couple minutes. I've food this works really well.
When I attempted to take them after eating, I would get really bloated and
sometimes feel ill.
Bottom line, have a dialogue with the doctor about each of your medications
and how they should be taking post WLS.
