Question:
3wks almost 4 wks out what to eat
I am 3and a half post out can I have spagetti and green salad if i chew,chew,chew.Whencan i have wheat toast with tuna salad or egg salad. — felicia45Cook (posted on October 4, 2009)

Soft foods include:
High Protein Choices:
 Diced lean meat or poultry
 Casserole made with ground meat and soft-cooked vegetables
 Eggs (scrambled, soft boiled, or egg-salad consistency)
 Egg whites contain protein
 Egg yolks contain protein but also fat and cholesterol
 Fish
 Liver
 Tofu
 Low-fat cottage cheese
 Mashed legumes (beans, lentils, or peas)
 Split pea soup, bean soups, fat free refried beans, humus
Other Choices:
 Pastina (Tiny pieces of pasta, often cooked in soups or used
as baby food)
 Soft fresh fruits without skins (as tolerated)
 Soft cooked fresh, frozen, or canned vegetables

If I were you I would stay away from salads at least for 12 weeks. Pasta
too can be a troublesome food, at least for me. Think of foods that if you
added water to them they would become more liquid. I wouldn't even begin to
try foods like you mention until six weeks. Didn't your surgeon give you an
eating program to follow? If not there are many posted online that give you
a good idea of what you should/should not be eating.

I am 2 1/2 weeks out from lap-band and I am just eating cream of wheat,
full liquid soups, still doing my protein shakes -- you NEED protein --,
egg salad, tuna salad,etc. Do not overdo it and CHEW! Believe me, it's not
pleasant otherwise. Another thing.. be SURE you eat when you are hungry
only.. don't let the brain hunger get in the way of the real thing!

wheat toast will come soon. The other stuff...stay away from for a while...
egg salad is good now tho. I would baby this pouche for a while tho. Soft
foods and liquids until you KNOW its healed. I was told it takes 3 months
to heal fully. if you do something that makes it pop open or
whatever....you iwll be in worse shape than before. Re educate yourself on
foods. Eat only what is nutritionally sound. Buy wheat pasta if you have to
have it. I am 15 months out and rarely at carbs. And hardly ever eat
salads. i eat other veggies and fruits tho. and of course I get my protein
first. I eat 4 ounces a meal and eat 4-5 meals a day and have been
maintaining my goal weight for 6 months. I hope this helps you out! hugs
