Question:
Help! I got my approval in hand on Wednesday 15th.

I got my approval for surgery on July 15th called the doctor off and was told they have the approval in hand and they are a month behind on seeing patients due to computer problems. Okay my concern is on the approval letter it states and end date of Sept 16th. Is that the final day my approval will be valide? Hi K, I just wanted to say congrats and am sorry I don't have a real answer for you since I had to beg and borrow the money for my surgery. I do think that you will be okay though you should have all done and be ready by the 15th of Sept. Call your insurance customer service line to get a real answer that pertains to your specific insurance. And remember don't call just once. Call 3 different times and write down each representative you speak to. You may be suprised and get 3 different answers.

I received my approval on Thursday 16th. I was told that I had 60 days. If I went past the 60 days I would have to re-qualify all over again. I have BCBS. Good luck to ya! My surgery is scheduled for July31.

I think now is a good time to call your insurance company to find out. You don't want to waste any time, just incase you do need to re qualify. But I would think they would extend the date, due to reasons beyond your control. But do call the insurance and keep us posted on how that turns out.

Can you call your surgeon and tell them that your approval is only good for a short time and ask if they can move you up the list a little? They might be able to do that for you since your insurance company gave you such a small window. Wow, they really gave you a short window!!! Mine gave me 6 months!!! Good luck. I hope you don't have to requalify. That would be ridiculous.
