Question:
Has anyone been able to eat more than they should following RNY
I usually read through the q&a daily. I noticed alot of responses to questions that state one should not be able to eat very much in the first month. Has anyone ever had that problem? If so, what did you do? — cxperr01 (posted on May 4, 2009)

I don't really feel that I'm able to eat more than I should. But I sure
seem to have a cast iron pouch. lol I can eat anything! And, to be
honest...I'd halfway hoped to not be able to tolerate sugars and fats.
Thankfully, I almost never am tempted so badly as to actually indulge in
the foods that I am not supposed to have. But still...I do wish I were one
of those who could only eat two bites. Ah well, I guess we're never
satisfied, huh? lol
I'm just grateful to have breezed through my surgery and had very little
pain and healed fast. I wish you the best! Good luck!

I was allowed 2 T of pureed protein, 1 T canned nsa fruit or mashed banana
or cooked veggie and 1 T grain/starch or cereal (2 saltines were allowed as
well in that group) The FIRST 8 weeks... I could not eat 4 tablespoons of
food right away...but by the end of the 8 weeks I could...It took me 20-30
minutes to get thru that amount...I STILL take time to eat so I feel
satisfied without over eating...5 years later... I average MUCH more at
about 1600-1800 calories a day! That is what I maintain my weight
with...Against popular belief, there is NO WAY we can all be on the same
"one size fits all" diet after RNY...We are individuals!
