Pureed salad? Wow, I missed that recipe. It sounds positively yucky but if
you liked it, send it to me, please. I am way past pureed but have friends
who are ready for it. Thanks in advance. Lyn

Wasn't that harsh on your pouch? I wasn't supposed to have salad til some
months post op...and I tried at about 3 months and couldn't even enjoy raw
veggies for near a year because of the enzymes and acids in many raw
veggies and fruits. I have to say though pureed salad sounds so gross!
LOL If it didn't bother your pouch, I guess that's good! LOL Eat salads
after protein as those enzymes help digest meats and proteins (That's how
strong they are!) I was a juicer before surgery but pureed
salad...hahaa....I just cannot wrap my mind around that! :::winks:::

I'm 2 weeks post op also. I have a list of what I can eat and salad isn't
on it. If it isn't on the list, it's not allowed at this time. I was also
told that in the next phase, I'll be allowed to eat veggies that are
well-cooked but no raw veggies for awhile.

I am 3 weeks post op 11/3. I bought some health choice and health select
soups from the store and pureed. Each can gave me about 3 meals. I needed
the flavors and spices after the sweetness of protein drinks. I always
looked for the highest protein in each soup. You can also boost the
protein content by adding some natural (unflavored) whey to the soup.
Just make sure it is smooth when you are done. The blender is my new best
friend lately. lol

HI, I am six weeks post op and absolutley could not stay on the liquid diet
for as long as the paperwork tells you to. I started pureed foods about
two weeks out and then went to soft foods at about three weeks...I can eat
basically anything I've tried, but I am very cautious...I do not eat sweets
(they turn my stomach anyway) of any kind, no bread of any kind and no
starchy stuff like rice or pasta or potatoes. Like the other posters say,
eat your proteins first...if salad works for you, put some deli turkey or
boiled egg in it. My biggest advice to eating is chew until your food is
like soup. It takes awile, but SO worth it. I'm getting my family used to
this concept, and with a 10 and 12 year old, they are realizing how much
quicker they get full this way. =)
Good luck! Rebecca

I had VSG surgery June 23, 2008. I have to admit that I too threw some
salad into the blender and gave it a whirl. It truly looked gross, but it
tasted heavenly! Try looking on the following site, she has some really
good recipes.

Good Luck with your search.

I depends on your taste but I like to take a can of bean (pinto, lima,
butter) whatever you like add a little salt and pepper, puree well and
microwave. They have at least a little protien and its just a bean soup. I
also like chicken breast or albacore tuna packed in water. add a little
pickle juice, mayo salt and pepper. you still have to chew it up some but
it is very tasty. With Thanksgiving coming up you can do that with a little
turkey and gravy. Since I myself will be on Turkey day, That is what I will
be having. Think of the regular foods that sound good to you. Add some
chicken broth to help puree it and anything is possible. It's all in the
imagination

I pureed Chicken breast with a little chicken broth and hot wing sauce. Try
it if you like spice. It didn't bother me a bit.
