Make sure you have your blood work done. Sounds lack of calcium. Best of
luck.

It's up to each and every post op to keep up on their lab work. This is the
only way to tell if your vitamins or calcium are at proper levels in your
body. If you have not followed through with routine labs, you can't blame
the teeth or hair problems on WLS. I have several post ops in my support
groups that are over 5 years post op who do not have teeth or hair issues.

Have your bloodwork done and ask for a cortisol level also. Get a bone
density level, complete scan also. I also have been taking large doses of
Vit D for 1 1/2 years as my body will not absorb it. I also take b-12 shots
every 2 weeks. My adrenal glands have quit functioning completely. So be
diligent about your aftercare, your body needs the attention. Diamond 0801

Ask him about stomach ulcers. I'm not sure about the hair loss at this
point in time. I do know, my teeth have started to deteriorate at the gums.
I found out I had stomach ulcers, but I didn't have any acid reflux. The
ulcers were causing me to have porous teeth and the gum trouble (one
dentist said it was because I was eating too many lemons) . I finally found
another Dr. and he checked my stomach and found ulcers.
Good luck and let me know..

I am six years out of surgery. I am now in need of six crowns and have as
many cavaties or more. My dentist hasn't a clue. He said the calcium would
only affect teeth if they were just developing. No one has an answer.
