I still use crackers/cheese & crackers/RF peanut-butter as a meal. :)
I just use FF saltines, nothing fancy. Some may have restrictions on the
salt, who knows, but I don't. I wouldn't be able to eat them w/o the
salt!! lol. Just be careful w/ the crackers b/c you can rack up some
quick calories snacking on those. But I'm 14 mos. post-op and I love my
crackers, haha. Always chew well as crackers and breads can get gummy.
Best wishes!!!! ~Sarah in VA

Just like the other person said I use fat free saltines. I use them with
peanut butter or cheese. Great snack and good protein.

Of course everyone, every surgeon/NUT seem to differ....but I eat regular
saltines w/peanut butter in the AM. For lunch I eat whole wheat with tuna.
For other meals etc. Tostido's makes a GREAT multi-grain "chip"
for lack of better explaniation w/o the bag to see - very good and GREAT
with guacomole or crumbled up in soup or chili - good fiber, too. I have
tried the 100 calorie wheat thins - good. I have tried the 100 calorie
cheese nips - good. I have tried and soy chips made by Quaker - bbq is my
fav., white cheddar is good, but bbq is better. I have tried the Quarker
rice chips, too. Bottom line - at about 2.5 months I started to try all
sort of things and as long as it was in my ration per 100 calories - no
more than 3g fat and 6g sugar, I tried it. I tolerated everything well -
still to date, I have not thrown up - I've had a few dumping episodes
(early on - apple juice and tomato soup - not good combo and I tried string
cheese before I was physically ready although on my list; my bod
protested). If you think you can eat it, you probably can. I listen to my
body. When I go to the store, I see something that appeals to me - I will
check the label and if in my ratio - I will try it. Some things I've passed
on even if they were in my ratio - if I had any sort of funny feeling about
it. Listen to your body. :) Good luck, hope I helped.

I found triscuts were good for me at that point; and they are no sugar, and
have protein in them! It is best to ask your NUT what they recomend.
Triscuts have a lot of different and great flavors. I also ate some of the
packet cheese crackers. Best wishes, Judy R

I don't eat any. I tried one time with some chili and dumped. I'd been
eating the chili by itself and decided oh well I'll try some crackers and
boy did I pay for it. However, if one can tolerate them -- carry on!

I have trouble with anything that has baking soda in it. My stomach
balloons out and I have horrible bloating pains with so much pressure on my
diaphragm that I have pain in my chest. All I can do is walk/stand until I
start with dry heaves. This goes on until I get enough air out of my
stomach. I have started to make my own crackers. I use rye, buckwheat,
oat flour, flaxseed and soy flour, which makes a nutritional hearty
cracker, full of fibers. For oils in the crackers I use grapeola and olive
oil. It is nice to know exactly what is going into your foods. Plus I add
thyme which gives the crackers a very pleasant taste.

I was told by my nutritionist at this point to only have lean meats, fruits
and veggies. I will allow myself like the other posters in moderation, but
the more healthy the better. Triscuit does have a lot of different
flavors, and by staying at or below the serving size stated on the package,
I'm sure things will be ok. I do try to avoid any breads, however, I am
going to buy the multigrain more expensive "healthy" bread and
try that. Now that I'm eating less I can buy the more expensive, better
for you, brands of things. I've even found whole wheat good pastas that
are low in carbs! Good luck!

I use WASA crackers. They are only 45 cals for a very large sheet of a
cracker and come in mutligrain and other whole grain flavors. High in
fiber and have some protein. Check those out, many times with the crackers
or in the organic section of the store.
