Question:
Has anyone lost so much weight that the skin on their face droops?
Ok..i know were all kinda like family so im gonna put this all out here. I am 25 and weigh 402. i am 5'2 so i need to loose about 250 pounds. i am scheduled for surgery next month. naturally, i have a very large double chin. i know im gonna have excess skin. thats a no brainer, but i was wondering if my skin from my double chin will sag like the rest of my body. if anyone can help me with this question i would be very happy. thanks and god bless. — jackie L. Hi I too was over 400 pounds and as of today am at 210 my chin is a little
saggy but doesn't look near as bad as before and is much easier to look at
in the mirror. I was really suprised at my facial skin I was afraid that
I would really age in the face as I'm 47 and am very young looking I was
afraid that being heavy made my skin tight on my face and kept me from
having wrinkles but have been pleasantly suprised. Check out my photos on
my profile bridgetann1961 for some before and afters. I still have 60
pounds to reach goal ...don't worry it will only improve your
"face" value. Good luck with your surgery and I'll remember you
in my prayers.

Your age is definitely to your advantage. Your skin should shrink up better
than someone in their 40's like me....
Congrats!

Jackie there are some facial exercises that one can do to help in that
area. Also, taking a quality brand of collagen can help. Every, little bit
helps - start with the facial exercises now so you can get used to them.

Jackie...Everyone looses the weight differently but because you are so
young, you should not have too much of a problem with the skin under your
chin....I was 33 when I had my surgery and I had 3 chins....I lost the
weight and honesly my neck is one of my best features....No sagging skin at
all, it's long and smooth....Just make sure you do your
exercises...Exercise is very important....I didn't do it the way I should
have and my skin on the rest of the body didn't tighten the way it should
have so now I'm regreting it but I'm happy with the results I have compared
to what I was....Don't worry about your neck, just stick to you good eating
plan and execise and you will be fine....God Bless and good luck....Joyce

Your age will help... I'd start using a facial cream right after surgeryto
start helping the "shrinking" process. That plus your age (you
have more elasticity) will help a lot. Good Luck!

that was my fear also...I don't know if it actually works, but it has for
me... Get lotion, and USE it. My skin is smooth, and no "sagging"

Jackie,
You could be my twin sister, I was 402# and 5'3" before LapBand.
After significant weight loss with still quite a bit to go, my face is slim
and I do not have much loose skin at all. I am a realist though and an
open to plastics anywhere and everywhere I need/want it after losing an
excess of 250# when I reach goal. I have had some Botox and Radiesse
injections to help me out in the meantime. I never thought I would, but,
after my laser hair removal was completed at the dermatologist office, I
just wanted to keep going and looking better and feeling better about
myself. It's not for everyone and I get it.... that's ok.
In all truth, it's hard to say what you're gonna look like when you lose
that much weight... you'll have a better idea after you get some loss under
your belt and see how your skin responds. You certainly have age on your
side.
Good luck and all the best,

I'm 42 and have a little bit of sag, but not too bad. Admittedly, I didn't
have as much weight to lose, but........you definitely have your age on
your side!
Also keep in mind that when you first lose the weight, you might look a
little more saggy and "gaunt". Slowly your body will adjust and
the saggy places tend to fill out a little and normalize.
I started using a cream by Olay...comes in a red jar w/a silver
lid..."regenerist micro-sculpting cream". Maybe I'm seeing
things, but I think the stuff actually works!

I was 470 at my highest, and only 4foot 10 1/2 inches tall, but now I am
down to 190, I had a large Double chin and with all the weight I lost I
hardly have any hanging skin. But I know everyone loses weight differently
, you will do fine ! Your Young.
