Question:
what salad dressing, or bbq do you eat.

You are too new to have salad. Try this to satisfy a salad craving: 3/4 cup Fresh Spinach 1/4 Cup Sunflower Seeds (hulled) 2 TBSP Olive Oil 1 TBSP Balsamic Vinegar 1/2 tsp Salt 1/8 tsp pepper In a small skillet bring vinegar and oil to steaming, but not boiling. Add spinach, salt, and pepper and stir for about 45-50 seconds to tenderize (wilt). Pour out onto your plate and top with sunflower seeds. Hope that will help. It gives you the crunch without leaving the salad too large to chew to liquid and adds protein. Hugs from your Okie friend.....

My question would be: how much do you think you can eat in one serving? 1/4 Cup? WAY too much. 1 Tblsp? Read the label: single digit of sugar per YOUR serving. 1 tsp on the tiny food you can eat? Probably ok. I'm coming up on 12 yrs and still careful with sugar. I can eat small-normal portions and don't worry about sauces. BUT I don't like my salad or meat to SWIM, either. Never did.

I too was craving salad sooooo much, but it was WAY over a YEAR post op before I could stomache even a few bites of it!! My mother is a nurse and she said lettuce is one of the hardest things for REGULAR stomaches to digest, which I'm sure makes it THAT much harder for us. Good luck finding what works for you. I don't much like giving food advice because EVERYTHING made me sick for the first year, so I was very particular.

The low cal italian works for me....although I eat everything but lettuce. Very little of the dressing goes on....less than 1 tbsp. BBQ sauce I did not use until after 1 year post op. Look for the one with the less sugar grams on it.....

Hi Trish... I did fine with salad after about 6 weeks but follow your surgeons recommendation...now that the PSA is over... I love light done right italian and wishbone fat free italian dressings... I have found that fat free creamy dressings replace the fat with sugar so they taste sweet (YUCK) and could make you dump probably better to avoid creamy dressings at elast at first. I alos like kraft carb well barbecue sauce. Actually they ahve a crab well itialian that is good too. Real barbecue sauce has a lot of sugar this one on;y has 2 g but that is for 2 tbsp so watch you portions (duh you just had WLS!!! not that you'll be able to eat a lot anyway ;-) ). Good luck to you!!! Hugs, Stef

KC Masterpiece's new preimum classic blend it has 0 i REPEAT ZERO sugars and tastes great! Since I can't send you the label, I'll give you the UPC so you can make sure you have the right one. LOL UPC # 074609054702. Also if you like ranch dressing then Ken's Steak House Ranch is a good one, and easily tolerated, less than 2grams sugar.
