I had the same thing. I tried milk and it tasted sour but then I got it
really cold and it tasted fine. Since I couldn't stand to eat I drank milk
because it had protein and some fat and could tolerate it until I could
find and move on too protein shakes.

I was the same way but it soon will go away. I will never forget on the way
home from the airport after my surgery we stopped at Walmart to get a few
things I waited in the car I got out to get some fresh air and all I could
smell was fried chicken they were cooling inside I thought I was going to
lose it.. There still is some foods that I still can't handle the smell of
but nothing bad. For protien try going to GNC and buying a bottle of liquid
protein I mix a pitcher of crystal light and put it in empty water bottles
and mix the protien in them and drink them like that it si a fruit punch
flavor and very good. Try it you will at least get your protien in till the
smell thing subsides. I think all of our senses are alot more sensitive
after surgery. Foods I didn't like before surgery I liked after it si
weird. Good Luck to you and if you would like to talk more please write me.
Thanks Cindy

Luckily I didn't have that problem, but you might want to try holding your
nose when you try to eat or drink. If it is the smell that is affecting
you, you might be able to bypass that if you aren't able to smell it. Hope
this works for you.

I am now 3 years post-op but also had the same problem in the beginning.
My best advice is for you to eat something every 2 to 3 hours regardless of
how bad it may taste to you right now. I did not eat as often as I should
have or enough at one time in the beginning and my stomach closed. I had
to have a balloon scope to stretch it back open. The procedure is not
painful or invasive just can be avoided in some cases. I do know what you
mean on not tasting good or smelling bad. I can remember crying almost
everytime it was time to eat because I didn't know how I was going to get
anything down. I think it has something to do with the anesthesia and it
will pass... I promise. Hang in there and good luck!!
