Question:
do you have bcbs of florida and had rny surgery with dr.m.jawad of ocala,fl?

does the insurance cover the hospital stay? is it in the network? or do i have to pay out of pocket for the hospital(ocala regional) in ocala, florida? thanks in advance.    — latreshar (posted on May 19, 2008)

I found out about a week before my surgery that my surgeon's office had precertified the procedure, but not the hospital stay. I had to call my insurance and get precertification for my own hospital stay! I thought the two went hand-in-hand but apparently I was wrong. It couldn't hurt to call your insurance and make sure everything that needs to be done gets done. Don't rely on your surgeon's staff for everything ... It'll be a little extra work for you, but my experience was good and it was worth taking care of it myself!

Mine was paid for, but my friend had to pay for hers. You should call them to make sure it is covered along with the surgery.
