Question:
Anyone know of a good B1 capsule you can take?
they tell me that I have to empty the capsule out and take the powder for 3 months and it tastes horrible. — dbobb32 (posted on May 10, 2007)

Oh man. I can only suggest that you take it with applesauce. Something
like that. Mix it with about 1Tbs of something you can digest. I had to
do that for quite a while with my depakote. Yuck.

Hi, why don't you take a B Sublingual tablet? You place it under your
tongue. It has all your B's in it. The taste is good. This is what my
doctor recommended to me. Good Luck!

Try putting the powder in some applesauce or pudding, take it as your first
bite, then eat the rest of your meal to wash the taste out of your mouth.
I did this and it worked well... good luck to you....

Diane,
Have you considered trying liquid B1? I know that they have them at
www.tjclark.com. Thiamine is a common vitamin that WLS patients need after
surgery. You might try the liquid.

Trader Joe's carries the sublingual and it tastes just fine. Sort of
fruity. It is a multi-B but I would think it should work. Ask your MD.
