Question:
Can anyone talk about Ultram
Can anyone talk a bit about Ultram? I have had RNY and need something for arthritic pain. Please let me know what you think and if you have any side effects etc. — katiecakes (posted on February 19, 2010)

I had the lap band but I was told never to take any arthritis medication,
however I take Tylenol Arthritis which is easy on my stomach and I have an
ulcer and it doesn't hurt it either, plus it is not a narcotic, but I'm not
sure about ultram. I would check with my surgeon, You dont want to take any
chances. Good Luck Hope this helps. thelma

I'm 10 years post-op RNY and have fibromyalgia, arthritis, and a host of
other health issues. I have taken Ultram as well as its shorter acting
version Tramadol and had no side effects. It didn't do much for me
painwise but I know many that it has helped. I hope you are one of them
and that my answer is somewhat helpful.

For me the Ultram works as a pain receptor filler, which allows other pain
medications to work better.

Tramadol works for me - no pain or stomach problems and I have been on it
for three years.
