hi i am 4 months out and drink skim of 1% as well. i've tried the special K protein cereal. that's the only one. it was ok, but you really have to watch your carbs. i usually just drink the milk by itself.

I can't stand milk and haven't drunk it since I was a kid. But when I DID drink it, it had to be whole milk. I understand that I can have some hi-fiber cereals, and so I bought one (but it's still waaaaay high in carbs), and I bought non-fat milk to use with it. That is what my surgeon recommends.

I've never been able to drink milk due to lactose intolerance. I tried lactaid milk years ago with no luck. Now they make fat free lactose free milk and it works like a charm. Some folks also use the soy milks available.

HI! ! year out and haven't tried cereal. I do however eat sugar free oatmeal with a tiny squirt of milk in it after I mix water with it. I have been on skim milk for most of my adult life...I am 44. Best of luck to you! hugs.Kim

I only drink nonfat milk - have to watch the amount of fat intake. However, I switched to nonfat milk several years ago, and anything else tastes too rich anymore.

I am so craving a bowl of cereal with milk. ha I had my RNY 10-31-07, I can eat yogurt, cheese, puddings but milk makes me sick and it was skim. My support group just told me that GNC makes cereal with dried milk in it and you just add water so I'm gonna try it. It's the popular brands of cereal...Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran and so on. I tried powdered milk and added water and it made me sick too so I'm wondering what is in this cereal..worth a try. I was never a breakfast eater but it's been almost 2 years and I just want a bite of cereal, ha. Good luck to you!!

I add a little skim milk to my cereal, but too much milk makes me feel icky. I really enjoy Special K with red berries about twice a week as my nighttime snack if I need it.

Lactaid, unsweetened soymilk and almond milk...I cannot drink cow's milk or whey protein because I became lactose intolerant after RNY...Those three I listed do not bother my pouch at all!
