Question:
How Long should I weight to think about plastic surgeries
I had my gastic on sept 8,2003 and I started out at 485 and I am now 360 I started out in a bra size of 52g and I can now wear a 52ddd bra but they are bothering me so much now because they are hanging so much. I am needing to know should I bear the pain and wait until I lose more weight or can I go ahead and do it. I know they r gonna wait until I get closer to my goal before I can have the abdominoplasty but I am wondering if I need to wait until I lose more weight for my breast. I have already seen a Dr. who is willing to do it but they just told me that I can go as small as I want and I know as I lose more weight they may go down more. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!! — SHAKEITHA M. I can't tell you what you should do but I will tell you what I would do. I
had a breast reduction with lift 4 years ago following a 90 pound weight
loss on my own. I loved my new breasts. I then, of course, gained all the
weight back. I had my RNY 12 months ago. I started at 265 and am now
145#. I will say that it seems like the last 10 pounds have come off my
chest alone. My once perfect perky boobs are now shrunken up and look
awful. I can't believe it but am actually considering implants because
they look so awful. Please wait on the reduction till you're at your goal
weight. I know if I could have done it all over again, I would have
waited.

Wait until you are done losing for at least 6 mos. Best is to wait 2 years
to see how much your skin goes back on it's own.

Check with your WLS surgeon on when you are reaching goal/plateau. I
recommend starting the process at 8-12 months out as the insurance approval
can take a long time. This allows you to also get some idea of what is
possible to fix at one time, the out-of-pocket costs, etc. It also helps
to shop around !
