Question:
What is the cream/lotion that
everyones recommends to help tighten lose skin and help with stretch marks? I have been told Vit E cream and Coco Butter but would like to know what people who have actually gone though this think. Thanks! — MyOrchids (posted on July 6, 2009)

Snake oil. Softens the skin and lightens the wallet. Don't waste your
money on such stuff. No cream or lotion will tighten sagging skin or make
stretch marks disappear. Exercise will tighten the muscles underneath loose
skin and stretch marks fade on their own in time. Beyond that you can opt
for plastic surgery if you feel it's necessary. I'm certain I will need it
and am saving up now.

I've used Scargo for scars. I am a keloid former, and it can't change
that, but once those are treated (my derma shoots them), the Scargo fades
the color. The non-keloid parts are pretty much gone. And even on older
scars from other booboos.

I LOVE Aveeno skin firming with active naturals as well as Nivea skin
firming with CoQ10...I've been using these for a few years now and love
them for moisture if nothing else! If I could find a lotion with active
copper again, I'd definately look for that...Neutrogena had one that I
LOVED so much for less than $10 a bottle and now they put it in a teeny
tiny jar and sell it as eye cream for 5 times the amount! Same ingredients
as the bottle I used to use and that stuff I REALLY liked and saw a
significant difference in my skin! BUT...Nothing in a bottle or jar will
shrink your skin magically and that's the hard cold truth...but keeping
your skin healthy and moisturized does help your skin. Of course so many
other things factor in how well your skin will tighten so don't spend a
fortune on creams and lotions, but DO use one! And keep a sun block on
your face, neck and hands! I tried strivectin for stretch marks and it did
change the texture of the thicker marks from paper thin to a
"thicker" skin...But it didn't diminish them in any way. I feel
better about the thicker ones on my hips from child birth because they do
not feel like you can poke a finger thru them anymore, but I dunno if the
stuff is worth over a $100 for an ounce or two! The damage is done...No
cream will change that...But I do believe that over the years of using skin
firming lotions that they DO make a minimal difference, Enough that I use
them rather than any old moisture lotion...
