To be honest, I tried it and it was the worst tasting liquid I have ever put in to my mouth. To me, it smelled and tasted something like rotting meat with an attempt to cover that up by adding sweeteners and fruit flavoring.... You might want to try New Whey protein "bullets". They're in a test-tubs shaped container and have 42 grams of protein per 3 ounces. They sell at GNC. They are certainly not delicious - syrupy sweet fruity flavors but at least they don't have that nasty taste like Proteinex and they're not made with milk.

Alicia, the bullets are usually cheaper buying them by the box at bariatriceating.com. I thought the Proteinex was pretty darn nasty.

They are really bad, I gaged just to smell them. I think the bullets from GNC are much better.

I'm with everyone else, I'll stick with the New Whey Slammers. I keep them in the fridge and because it is a screw on top I can drink 1/2 in the morning and half at night. I get them at GNC, but I just saw that vitalady.com has them for a little bit cheaper. Good Luck

You will want to check on the amino acid profile of both of the products mentioned. They get very low or zero PDCAAS protein-quality scores. Your dietitian should be able to explain the importance, and you can read about protein quality at www.soard.org (click on the yellow oval for "Bariatric Nutrition). This is a paper from the ASMBS, the medical society of bariatric surgeons. You can ask the companies their PDCAAS score. I will interested in whether they answer directly with a score, or try to explain why it isn't important. (The National Academy of Sciences -- Institute of Medicine thinks it is central and important.) Kind regards Jerome UNJURY (R) Protein

I also use the New Whey bullets, they are way to sweet for me to drink alone. I usually add them to about 32 oz of water and ice and sip on it over the course of the afternoon. I've found that this is a great way to get some of my water too. My local vitamin store has 4-5 different flavors, its kinda like crystal light.
