Question:
I have humana health. The exclusion reads: anything related to obesity
except morbid obesity..Is there a chance by revision could be covered? — tylerswife (posted on December 24, 2005)

I am not sure, I think the best thing to do is contact someone in your HR
department at work, or call your insurance company directly. I would tell
them that you are unclear on what related to obesity
except morbid obesity..
means. Best of luck to you

I also have Humana (through the Wauwatosa School District). I was told
over the phone that gastric bypass surgery was excluded, but I am not going
to give up. I will try and appeal to my HR department, try obesity lawyer,
or if I have to, will pay for it myself. After two years of researching
it, I believe this surgery is the only thing that will help me. If I have
any luck with Humana, I will let you know. Please do the same for me.

I have humana, as well - after much 'going round' with them, I had the
surgery as 'self pay', but will continue to pursue them for reimbursement.
Wish I had better news for you, but if you have any luck with them, please
let me know. I had been given about 2 years to live without a radical
weight drop, so I didn't really have the time to wait for the insurance
company to go thru their whole deny-deny-deny-lawsuit-approve process.
Now, however, I have all the time in the world!!
