Question:
How long is the wait?
Today I had my physiologist appointmant. I have 5 more pounds to lose and I'm at the goal weight they set for me. How long after you speak with the physiologist do you get a call with the date of the surgery. I'm so happy everything went good today. I knew it would, but still I was a little nervous. Now i just want to get the date and start my new life. I know it will be hard at first but well worth it later. Thanks for comments and reading my question Theresa L — treeeza (posted on April 14, 2009)

i to had the rny on april the 2nd, it took me 6 months to get everything
done. are you haviing to go to a cardio, lung, and your pcp to get
clearance first? it also depends on your insurance plan.

As the previous responder said it depends on if you have any consults to
get, then it gets submitted to your insurance for preauthorization so you
need to check with your surgeons office about how things proceed.

Hi Theresa,
I had my psychological in mid Feb. then they sent that in to insurance for
approval. While I was waiting for that I went to all my classes and any
tests the surgeon wanted done. My surgery is 4/29. Although it could have
been done probably late march but the surgeon changed hospitals so there
was a delay. But again it depends on your surgeon, the tests you need and
the insurance approval process. But mine was roughly 2 months, really
quick. Good luck!
