I was able to eat one piece of pizza at about three months out. I just ate
the toppings and pretty much left the crust. I was just real careful. I
don't do much bread so the crust just doesn't fit.

I am almost a year out and can eat one full slice of pizza no problem.
Light sauce, thin crust and light cheese and one meat.

prior to surgery, pizza was my all time fav food...I could live on
it.HOwever, after surgery I noticed it was just harder for me to digest the
dough. I had gastric bypass and I have found that carbs like that just dont
sit well or fit well for that matter. I was able to try pizza w/in 2 months
after surgery....good luck

I am 9 months out ad can eat 1 piece of pizza...regular thin kind, no house
of pizza no pan pizza, no pepperoni and I must blot the grease...I do not
prefer to eat pizza as a meal because it really isn't the best in terms of
nourishment, but on occasion at a party or something it passes...I used to
eat 6-7 slices before surgery with many many toppings, the greasier the
better for me...now a very different story, but I don't even miss it...

I am 8 years post-RNY and have never tolerated anything dough-y at all,
including bread (unless I toast it), buns, doughnuts, etc. It just can't
make it through my stoma. I guess that is a blessing in disguise? The only
pizza I can have rarely is Pizza Hut thin & crispy with 1/2 the cheese
& light sauce. Ahhhh pizza, I miss you so!
