Question:
Does anyone know of a surgeon that performs the Vertical Sleeve in Rhode Island?

The closest places I found on the VSG forum was Boston, MA and New Haven, CT. I don't want to travel to another state for surgery because I have 4 children. Visiting me in the hospital would be impossible and it would be too difficult to get to appointments. I also Googled VSG Surgeons in RI but couldn't find anything. Thanks. Marcia, you could try looking in your area for any the Doctors with the center for excellences that do the RNY. My surgeon does lapband, rny AND VSG. He just doesn't seem to promote the VSG so much yet. Call nearby DR.'s and just ask them if they do the VSG

Hi Marcia, If you have insurance, call them to help locate a surgeon in or near your area. Also, most insurances don't usually aprove of the sleeve (some may, but most do not) so you should find out what is covered by your insurance, then ask them for help to locate a surgeon for you. As always, do your homework on any doctor before any major surgery too. Best of luck.
