Question:
Does anyone have any recommendations for some chewable or liquid vitamins.
I am taking the Building Blocks Multi Vit. and the Calcium Citrate w/ Vit. D. And am having a hard time with them, I feel like they are coming back up everytime I try to eat them. Thank you for any input. — twinsplusone (posted on September 29, 2008)

Look at my pofile page. I've used 3 brands since surgery. One was too
expensive, $60 a month. The other two are $20 a month plus shipping, net
cost about $1 a day. One tastes like an orange punch and the other tastes
like apple cider. These last two types mentioned I used to this day. Very
good, and lessen the number of pills needed daily. DAVE

For Calcium Citrate I am using a powder form that I had to my protein
shake. On the bottle it states it works best with pulp juice. Sorry I don't
remember the brand name.

Up-cal - powdered form of calcium citrate + D. You can order it at
amazon.com Hope this helps..

I have been using the Viactive multi vitamins. They are a chocolate
flavored chew and are not bad at all. Like having a little piece of candy.

I had the same problem I was getting sick to my stomach just thinking about
chewing them up. So when I went back to the doctor for my month checkup I
asked for the capsules, they work alot better, Iam 6 weeks out. Good luck

You just had your surgery a few days ago; are you sure your surgeon wants
you to start taking vitamins this soon? My surgeon wanted my stomach pouch
to heal some first, and told me to start taking vitamins 2 weeks post-op.

This is the exact reason I became malnourished...I got sooo sick just
thinking about chewing up all my calcium citrate wafers and Centrum
chewables...I couldn't even swallow capsules! I gag on anything I can't
chew up into tiny pieces...STILL 4+ years later! I have a variety of
choices or I can't do it. I alternate between Bariatric Advantage Citrate,
Twinlabs citrate wafers and Up Cal D (But I take magnesium with that one,
since it doesn't have any) I also use Wegman's store chewable calcium
citrate wafers on occassion for a different flavor too. Recently I bought
unflavored calcium citrate powder at Vitamin shop...It is YUCKY alone...but
taste great just mixed into a tiny bit of NSA juice or flavored drink.
It's called All One- Calcium Complex...It's just for theose day i can't
stomah a calcium wafer. As for multi vits...I chew up a Centrum every
day...I Like Traer Joe's multi Vit too although it doesn't have all the
vits I look for...some days i just need a different flavor...I am currently
looking into multi caps with powder forms of vits rather than
pills...Liquid vits bur the holy heck outta my pouch and the taste is ten
times stronger than just chewing up a Centrum...But malnurishment makes
everything easier going down...When you know you are sick, you look at vits
like they are medicine that will heal you...so I have a new appreciation
for my Centrums...I used A GNC liquid for a while but they don't make it
anymore...It really burned my pouch though...Now that I can swallow
capsules (which was really hard for me to learn to do recently) I might
try to go the capsule route for a while or as an alternative.

I had the same trouble but I found Centrum has a liquid and it seems to
stay put. Good luck.

I take Centrum chewable - it has a decent orange flavor and for calcium
Viactiv - many different flavors, 2X a day. Make sure you chew both very
well.

I am taking the Bariatric Advantage vitamins and they taste great. I was
taking Centrum chewables and they tasted nasty. They made me sick.
Bariatric Advantage may cost a little more but worth it to me.

ALL of my vitamins are chewable and I get all of them from Wal-Mart. This
includes the Calcium & Multi-Vitamins. I started taking Centrum Silver
(I'm 51) and started breaking out in small, red, itchy spots. I asked on
this site about it and found out that a lot of people have reactions and/or
allergies to the Centrum Silver... it's all of that niacin. So be careful
when looking for the multi-vitamins.

I take a liquid vitamin called Epic Ultra. I used to take Centum adult
chewables. They were OK but when I started taking the liquid vitamins I
felt a boost in energy and I lost 6 more pounds (at 4 plus years out,
that's astonishing! It must have boosted my metabolism too). Good luck with
your weight loss journey.
BTW, where's the nimrod who always posts about get some vemma? He makes it
sound as though it will cure colds, flu, cancer, and/or bedwetting.

I tried several kinds but have happily settled with P4L. I am doing very
very well on it. You can read about it at
www.passion4lifevitamins.com/tarra One ounce per day, liquid. It's good
stuff.

For the first two weeks post op, I was instructed to take 2 Flintstone
chewables. Then I tried the prenatal vitamins, they're as big as my head,
gag. I have been using Celebrate Bariatric Chewables, very pleasant taste
and texture. This time around, I also ordered their sublingual B12.

The best and most powerful "liquid" vitamin / mineral supplement
is VEMMA. Go to www.TrySomeVemma.com Stay away from tablets, you only
absorb 15%. VEMMA has 1000 IU of vitamin D3.
