Hi. that is normal to be nervous. But you are going to be even more
beautiful than you already are. I had mine over a year ago and I feel so
good today and I'm not even at my goal weight yet. This time next week you
will be on your way... and you will have probably lost 10 lbs or so. I will
also pray that God's hands are with the surgeon's tomorrow.

I had my rny surgery January 2008. I second guessed the whole idea of the
surgery. I was sooo nervous the night before and the day of the surgery,
in my opinion if you aren't nervous you would be a fool. Four months later
I still believe it was the best thing I have ever done for myself.
You will be fine and as long as you remember why you are doing it. Best of
luck and I look forward to seeing you on here bragging about your results!

Being really nervous is very normal and the doctors expect you to be
feeling that way. I had my lap RNY last week and the anesthesiologist
offered me something to make me relax. It worked great and I would highly
suggest it! It was just enough to take the edge off...I didn't feel
drugged or out of it, but a great deal more relaxed. I wish you good luck
and an uneventful recovery!

Hi,
My surgery was one week ago tomorrow. I was nervous and began to second
guest my decision. When I shared my concern with the surgery nurse, she was
so supportive, assured me that some anxiety is to be expected and the meds
would calm me (and they did). I am now a week out. I have no regrets ,
starting to feel better already! Please know that your decision to take
control of your good health is a very good decision.

I can only imagine what you are feeling. What you are doing is a big step
in changing your life for the better. Be proud you have the courage to
start this journey. You will be in my prayers tomorrow and let us know how
you are doing after the surgery. Take care :o)

Nervous is the understatement of the century as to how I felt. The night
before and I think right up until they gave me a shot of something to
soothe my nerves I was near hysterics. I have PMDD and was due like that
day...and I had so many what ifs and it had been a long time since I'd be
in the hospital and when I was in surgery wise it was very traumatic and I
was only 6 so you can only imagine the scarring it left on me..
HOWEVER....once the surgery was done I thought I was crazy to have been so
nervous and scared. It is a month and 2 days post op and I want to go up
to people and ask them if they would consider WLS surgery if they had a
chance at changing their entire lives. In a recent meeting I attended
someone said "morbid obesity is a life threatening disease" that
stuck with me and struck me as so true. You will be fine and remember
NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS :)

Nervous??!! Ummmm YES!! I was so nervous and scared and every other emotion
out there for a week or so before my surgery which was last Tuesday
4/29/08...I lost 5 ilb just from the diarreah I had!! But I told the nurse
when I got to the hospital the morning of and the anesthesiologist gave me
something to relax..it worked. It is normal to second guess and wonder if
what you are about to do is the right thing..well if you have come to this
point..meaning if you need WLS..then there is not turning back. You cannot
get the smae kind of results on your own...Be confident..God is with you
and all of us here at OH are here for you too! I look forward to hearing
how well you are doing afterwards!!

I'll be honest with you and say I had complete peace about my day of
surgery. My husband and I spent a lot of time researching and praying
about this and so we had complete peace, God's peace, about surgery.
Anxiety is not uncommon though, and I wish you well. Deep breathing will
help some. Take care. Patricia P.

YEP! Very nervous but when you get to the hospital there will be so much
going on you won't even have time to think. Before you know it you'll be
in recovery. Best of luck. My lap-band surgery was 3 weeks ago.

My day is on the 9th, and I am counting down the days.. I am excited and
nervous! I hope this surgery gives you the tool to succeed in everything
you decide to do!! You rock to have made it this far, it being such a long
process to begin with! Remember you are a beautiful person to begin with!
