Question:
Anyone have Lap Band after DS?

Had DS in 1999. Not a success story. Was 333 at date of surgery....now 293. Going back to see surgeon. He now does Lap Band...anyone have Lap done after DS?!?!?    — NYteacher93 (posted on August 11, 2007)

Wow, that is unusual. I never heard of anyone who had a DS first and now wants a revision to a lapband. It is usually the other way around. Go to the DS forum and ask there.

I posted your question on our DS forum and many were skeptical about your reasoning to a lapband after DS. How did the DS fail you?. Does the surgeon agree that it malfunctioned or what.? I am not too sure a surgeon would likely want to do a lapband after a DS because the DS is the last stop on the run almost 100% of the time.

Hi, who did you DS? Do you know how big they made your stomach or the length of your common channel? Both of those things can be revised. I have not heard of anyone getting a band after DS but I would think it could be done. A lot depends on why your DS failed you and whether the band would address those aspects of your situation for you. I hope you find a good solution! Laura
