Congradulations on you surgery!! Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. If
it was me I would let the doctor know and maybe he can give you something
to dry you up before your surgery. I know I would be very disappointed if I
showed up and they told me that they could not do the surgery. Try to get
well and best of luck to you. I will be praying for you.

If I was your Doctor and you did not call, Allowing me to switch you off
with a patient that was set for a couple of days later in the week, and
preserve my schedule and all the other personnel involved about 10 to 15
people, say 10k worth of expense, you might imagine the reception you will
receive. I might find room for you at the end of the current booking bin
in the year I retire. instead of a simple switch with a patient that is a
few day after you and all set.

I am post-op 1 month! When I went to have my surgery I had a cold & had
lost my voice a lil, but my temp was fine & oxygen was fine, so there
was no need to pospone! Good luck to ya!

Congrats on your surgery date. But YES please call your doctor ASAP. I was
sick about a week before I had surgery. I was very upset. Most docs will
not do the procedure on you unless you are well. Not telling the doc that
you are sick could cause problems in recovery. So, please call him. There
are antibiotics out that work fast and work good. I was on Avelox 400mg. I
only had to take them for five days. Best of luck to you.

I would definitely call the doc ASAP to get a good dose of antibiotics in
your system. I know my surgery was postponed three times because of minor
urinary tract infections. Good luck dear!

I was sick when I went for preops last week and told everyone about it.
They all said the same thing..If my chest xray comes back clear and I don't
have a fever, then I could have the surgery..My preop was on the 27th and I
had surgery on the 30th of December, 2005. Yep, I just got home yesterday
afternoon and I feel fine..I'm hoarse, a little and still have that nagging
cough which is pretty painful..they gave me some liquid pain medicine and
it helps a lot.
I had Lap Rny, and it wasn't as bad as I thought..aside from the gas, and
the coughing, I feel very good.

You really don't want a cold when you are going to have abdominal surgery.
After surgery you have to splint and cough as it is. They will diffinately
move your surgery to a more healthy time for you.
