Question:
Arm and Leg Lift Questions

I have some slight excess skin on my forearm and legs below the knees, including stretchmarks. They really bother me. I have batwing deformity and need an arm lift, can the scar extend slightly past the elbow to correct the excess skin on the forearm. I have excess on my upper thighs, which I know can be corrected with a thigh lift but what about excess skin and stretchmarks below the knees (all located on the back of the leg)? I only have excess skin in the upper thighs, which I know can be remedied with just groin incisions. Is there a seperate surgery for the lower legs that don't involve extending a vertical scar from the thigh past the knee?    — wgdepot (posted on December 17, 2005)

I can not help you with the leg question, but I am scheduled for a arm lift in January, and I asked my plastic surgeon about the forearm, and he said that the incision would only be to the bend, that some of the skin would pull up from the forearm, and once the excess weight was off the top arm, it would not seem as bad on the forearm. I have heard people having excess skin on the forearm removed. You might want to post this question on the Plastic Surgery Message Board.

Whoops. I didn't know I had posted in the section. Thanks for the reply though. It was helpful!

Hi. The forearm and calf areas aren't really areas we can easily lift. As you said, the upper arms and inner thighs are corrected through incisions in the back of the arm and groin area. Some examples at www.bodylifthouston.com
