Question:
what doctor will take patiens over 400 pounds in the state of missouri
Hi I am 400 pound in weight and having trouble finding a doctor you would deal with me. I think I'm running out of luck. Have Straight Medicare. Help please! — CHRISBLUESKIES (posted on March 1, 2010)

I can't help you with your question other than to advise you to call the
bariatric centers and ask them. I had my surgery at the Cleveland Bariatric
center and once talked with a man who had weighed more than 500 pounds. He
said the Cleveland BC advised him to loose 100 pounds before he could have
surgery. The nice thing is that the center stayed with him until he lost
the 100 pounds. They didn't just tell him to come back after he had lost
the weight. He did lose the 100 pounds, had surgery and lost another 100
pounds. He had his little daughter with him when I was talking with him and
she looked at me and said, "Yes, and he did it all for me!"

If I were you I would contact a university with a medical school and seek
within that medical school a department called Bariatric Specialties. That
would be the avenue which would be the most helpful.
