NO!!! NSIADS (non-steroidal anti-inflamatory such as asprin) are never
allowed once you have had gastric bypass! They can cause a host of
problems, one of which is ulcers. I have had two perforated ulcers and one
bleeding ulcer...all because of taking NSAIDs. DON'T DO IT.

I agree with Pat. The reason is that NSAIDs affect our protective
prostiglandins which protect us from ulcers and so it is a systemic effect
not just the pill laying in the stomach. With rny our stomach and duodenum
never is touched by food but is still there. Also if you develop an ulcer
in your stomach or duodenum there is no way to get a scope to it to stop
the bleeding because of our re-routed anatomy. Bottom line: no NSAIDs, the
risk outweighs the benefit. Kevin

Generally, the answer is no. Ask your surgeon. I have read about some
surgeon's allowing NSAIDs with a nexium pill or something along those
lines. & Only as needed but FIRST seek your surgeon and ask him/her.

I take one baby ASA per day.My surgeon is okay with that. He said okay with
NSAIDs this includes aspirin for pain only for 2-3 days at a time.In
general he said to avoid it any take Tylenol.

Every doctor is different, so I would check with your doctor. I take a
chewable baby aspirin once a day with no problems.

My surgeon told me the same thing Kevin Flowers said. it's not the pill
laying on the stomach but a chemical reaction that causes the ulcers. I had
asked my surgeon about taking liquid Motrin and that's when he told me
about the reaction. My PCP gave me Tramadol to take for pain.
