Question:
enlarged bowel anyone have this

I went fro a scope to find out why i was gaining weight, for so long i just thought it was my fault. but i found out that the bowel attached to my pouch is enlarged i want to know so much more about this and if others have went through this, how it was corrected. dr.nohr says he does not do this type of work and referred me to someone in edmonton do not have any other details. please help cant find nothing on interet    — sweetdarling_ab (posted on February 5, 2009)

I think your doc gave you his diagnosis in simple terms that he thought you might understand...or maybe he's not sure what the problem is himself..."Enlarged" in medical terms is detended...Look up "bowel distention" or "Distended Bowel" and you might get a better idea what might be going on... It sounds like you might have the same problem that I do. Dr. Oh said that my stoma(where the pouch is attached to the intestants) is enlarged it should be about the size of your little finger and mine is larger than a quarter. The ROSE procedure is one of the ways to fix it. My insurance won't cover it because they consider it experimental. I origiinal lost 120lbs, regained 60 and have stayed at this weight for 3 years at least I managed to stop the gaining and am still healthier than before my surgery.
