anyone been approved bcbs ppo without supervised diet

I had surgery 4June04. I was approved without a supervised diet. I had to list many diets that I had tried in the past years. But, this was before BCBS got so strict with their criteria for WLS...good luck, Judy

I just had my surgery done on December 27th. My doc did not require me to have a supervised wiehgt loss. As far as I know the inusrance company never asked for it. Best of luck to you.

My insurance requires 18 months supervised, but all I had to show was a pattern of weight loss attempts. If you go to my website and look under insurance at my appeal letter, I put in their a graph of everything I have tried. This went to insurance and they approved based on it. Good luck to you!

Had my surgery on 11-8-05. No supervised diet before. Just had to list the diets I had tried in the past and get a recomendation from my doc. Good luck
