Question:
Has anyone found material written specifically to educate family members?
I posted a question about materials to educate my PCP and got a great lead to http://www.gastricbypass.com/ where they have info specifically designed to update your PCP. So now I'm wondering if anyone knows of any info designed to educate family about the surgery and life afterwards. I could give them books to read but I was hoping for something shorter. Hi! I did find a great website for that while I was reserching, they sent
me a free mini book and I let all of my friends and family read it. None of
them has had a problem with me having the surgery since. Now there all so
supportive now that they understand it! www.weightlosssurgeryinfo.com

I created a booklet for post op RNY patients that details the surgery, my
doc's post op diet, and other articles including what meds to avoid, etc. I
gleaned this material from several sources, and put it in one place so I
would have it handy. It might be useful to you, and as always, follow your
own doc's directions. You can find it online at http://tinyurl.com/7qct
Good luck to you!
