No Regrets!!!

The only time I regret this surgery is when I want to check out into a carb
or sugar coma. I've only wanted to do that once or twice since surgery,
and I'm grateful I can't. That's what got me to 291. I LOVE my RNY, its
changed my life.

I'm 9wks lapband and no regrets at all. I think people with a lot of
complications after surgery have regrets though. I find it awesome that I
get full after eating a cup of food.

I have had an ulcer and had to have the stoma stretched a couple times. I
have no regrets though. I can not believe the change in my life. It has
been amazing. I am 8 months out now. Down to 160

The only regret I have is NOT doing it sooner! Had my surg last July 1st,
down 100lbs and had some issues to deal with ...had to have stoma streched
several times. But NEVER any regrets about doing the surg! BEST of LUCK!

What is there to regret? My diabetes that is now gone? My great energy
level? My legs and ankles not being swollen? Learning to eat healthfully
for life? Or going down 6 sizes in 3 months? NO REGRETS-I LOVE MY RNY!

I wish I would have followed what the Doctor said to do a lot closer. Yes I
have lost weight but I have also gained some back. It is frustrating and a
bit embarassing because yesterday I had someone ask--Did it(RNY)work? I
also can not say enough about support groups--get involved in one-either
from your Doctor or another group that is meeting. We need all the help we
can get.

I don't regret having the surgery....I regret that I chose lap band over
the bypass. If you are in the process of choosing what surgery to have make
sure you research all the surgeries and ask other people about there
experiences before you rush into any wls.

No regrets, DP, except like Julie, I wish I'd had it done sooner. I'm 2
years post op and down 140 pounds. I gained 3 pounds back but upped my
exercise level to lose it. Three pounds is easier to lose than 10 pounds!
Good luck

Even with my vitamin deficiencies/mal-nutrition at one point and
anemia....I would do it again and again...only I would have done it sooner!
5 years and no regrets at all! Stay healthy with yearly labs to measure
your vitamins and vital levels and you can stay on top of vitamin lows
before they get too far away from you! I wish I took it more
seriously...That is my only regret. Don't take the basic rules for
granted...they are the instructions for working the tool properly...as soon
as you stray from the basics, you lose control...DON'T do that! :)

I had the VSG. I would not do this again not even with the weight I've
lost. To say this is life altering is an understatement. -Corina

I do, I wish that I would of had the RNY instead of the realize band. I
guess because the weight is coming off too slow for me. I am not gonna lie
I have cheated a couple of times but I am on track now and I still haven't
really lost that amount of weight. I guess I thought I would lose 2-3 lbs
a week and it's not the case with me. I am lucky to lost 2-3 in a month.
I guess if you want to see results quickly do not have the lap/realize
band. I wish that I would of had the RNY instead..but that's just me. I
have had 4 fills and I still can eat almost everything that I want:(

Not one reqret. I too, wish I would have done it sooner!. All my previous
ailments are gone and I am no longer a spectator on the sidelines - I am a
player in the games of life! Best decision I ever made.

Absolutely no regrets, this was the best $19000 I have ever spent and I
would do it again in a heartbeat. I finally have my life back and it is
better than ever. Yes there are ups and downs and it is sometimes
frustrating but what major change in your life doesn't come with that.
Life is the best! Good luck.

I've never seen a regrets forum. I see other forums like failed surgeries
but not actually a regrets forum. Please email me at OH if you know where
on OH it's located. Thanks.
