Your energy levels may not be what they should be and if you are not very
far out after surgery, your healing may be slower.

A month or so low protein isnt a problem, its a goal not a must have on day
one. Long term, like months it can cause troubles like low energy, but by
that time you can eat lots more.

The higher your proten intake the higher your weight loss. Your body can
not efficiently turn protein into energy, so it turns your stored fat
deposits; your body then burns its own fat (which is the process of
ketosis). Most studies suggest that at least 60 grams of protein a day are
needed to sustain healthy ketosis (although with higher protein levels,
weight loss is much faster). Also, without adequate protein intake while
losing weight quickly, you can experience muscle loss as well.
And, if you don't get at lesat 60 grams of protein the sky won't fall, the
earth will stop revolving on its axis.

Bobbi, you can lose your hair, loss of energy and protein dificiency, you
don't want any of this to happen. Try to take in as much as you can, have
you tried the double milk? You can have 1c skim milk and add 1scoop of
dried milk it will give you double the protein. Another thing that is
good, is the carnation instant breakfast "no sugar added" add it
to 1c skim milk and you will get 12g of protein out of it. You will have
much more success is you reach the protein goal each day.

Protein is very important to the body.. it's the first thing you should eat
at any meal.. your/our body is in basically starvation mode; take away the
protein and it will slow down your weight loss; your body will try to hold
on to the fat!
