Question:
I AM CONFUSED ON HOW MUCH PROTEIN, OR TOO MUCH PROTEIN
I HAD MY SURGERY OCT 3,2000, THE LAST 6 WEEKS I HAVE STAYED THE SAME. NO GAIN,NO LOSS, I HAD BEEN HAVING 25-40 GRAMS OF PROTEIN A DAY. THIS PAST WEEK I HAD: THURS 74,FRI 86,SAT 80,SUN 58,MON 98,TUES 85. IS THIS OK? OR TOO MUCH? HOW LONG BEFORE I WOULD SEE A WEIGHT DROP? I STAY UNDER 1000 CALORIES A DAY. I WOULD APPRICATE ANY HELP. I'm probably not the best person to answer your question..I had my surgery
10/18, and for the last month have pretty much stayed still as well. But,
my understanding is you need at least 60 grams of protein a day. I don't
know if it's possible to have too much. However, by this point, according
to my nutritionist, I should be eating 12-1400 calories a day...if not your
body starts holding onto fat thinking that you're going into long term
starvation.
Hope this helps!

Hi there ! I had my surgery 1 week after you. My protein grams goal per
the Bariatric Treatment Center is 75 per day. They also advised to stay
within an 800-1000-1200 calorie diet. Fat gram goal is 30-50, no more.
Yes, I read a lot of labels but things seem to go better when I do get in
my full 75 protein grams. Hope this helps. P.S. I recently had 1 week
where I didn't lose any weight too. I upped it back to the 75 and
exercised a bit more and lost 6 lbs in 5 days. You just need to jump start
the ol' metabolism !!! Good luck and If I can help in any way, let me know.
