Coffee will not stop your weight loss, nor will it dehydrate you despite
what many many people will state. A recent study was conducted and they
found that normal coffee drinkers do not lose any additional fluids, and as
a person with a hx of ulcers, my GI doc has no problem with me drinking
coffee. Study can be found here:

I would ask your doctor. My doc says no caffeine, however others say their
doc says it is ok. There are several studies out there, so don't just take
the word of one study. Research it. I personally don't drink it because
of the adverse effects it has on my system.

I drink reg. coffee everyday since about a month after my RNY and I am 1.5
years out and lost 220 pounds. So I don't think it will hault your weight
loss. Just don't put sugar in it. I use non- dairy cream and sugar free
chocolate in mine..

I have reached my weight loss goal. I drink coffee every day. My dr just
told me to make sure that I drink 64 oz of calorie free caffeen free
liquids a day. I drink 3 - 5 cups of coffee a day. a "Vinte skinny
vanillia Lattee" has 17g of proteing no fat and no sugar 160 calories.
I count the calories to make sure that I am not consuming more than I am
burning to stay on track.

Here's what our nut told us after a year. We can have one caffeine drink
of coffee a day and one diet coke per day. That's it no more. Hope this
helps.

Most doctors say no caffiene. I know lots of people who have had the
surgery who drink a lot of regular coffee after six months to a year. I can
not it makes my heart race if I do. Everyone is different so just take it
easy and do decaf at least for the first year.
