Question:
Is it necessary to wait until you reach your goal weight before having breast reduct.
It seems to make sense to wait until I have lost all the weight I can. However, a part of me is definitely wishing that I could go ahead and have it now. Another reason I want to go ahead and do it, is that I need the lift. If I'm not awful careful, I'm gonna start trippin' on "the girls." haha — PaulaJ (posted on September 3, 2009)

If you wait you will only need that one.... if you get the lift before you
have lost and your weight has stabilized then you run the risk of needing
another one. It could get very expensive very quickly.....

The question is how far away are you from reaching your goal weight? If
you are within 20lbs I think I would start seeking a consult with a plastic
surgeon. They can tell you the best answer. Even just give an office a
call to see what they say about doing the surgery now or wait till you
loose the weight!

As someone who has reached goal and needed a reduction before surgery, I
say a resounding WAIT. My breasts have shrunk down so many sizes I lost
count. There is hardly anything there now except skin. That said, I will be
looking at a lift and AUGMENTATION. Never thought I would say that!! I
understand your hurry, but you will be much happier waiting until the
surgeon can see what they really have to work with, AND I would be
surprised if a surgeon thought it was a good idea to do it before you
finish losing.

Hi I had RNY July of 08 I have lost 180 pounds I just had breast reduction
a month ago I had alot of skin also bad back pain feels much better they
took 2.5 pounds off the sides and breast I went from hanging past waist on
pants to nice perky B boobies, and I am so happy I still have 13 pounds to
lose but is it in skin? I only would like to be down to 180 so we will see
I have large bones anyway I would start looking into it the plastic
surgeon will tell you. I still have some back pain but if I remember
posture before I get into so much pain I can control it good luck Tammi
