Question:
I have surgery scheduled for 8/20. I have not been tested for sleep apnea.
I answered "no" to the do you have sleep apena question on the medical questionnaire at my surgeons office. Now I wondering how I know that if I have never had a sleep study. — Leslie C. (posted on July 25, 2009)

The symptoms are waking at night, snoring, feeling tired during the day,
stopping breathing for 10 or more seconds at a time. The diagnosis is a
sleep study, if you have symptoms you can as your Primary DR for a referal.

I replied no on my surgeon's survey but a sleep study was required for me
to get approval for surgery and I found out that I have it, so I will let
my surgeon know. I would suggest you have a sleep study because the only
symptom I had was loud snoring. It is better to be on the safe side.
