Question:
Cook Books usefull
Has anyone read or have the following books? Eating Well after: After Weight Loss Surgery & Recipes for Life: after Weight Loss Surgery! I was wondering if they are really useful or not? Are the recipes good? Please give me your comments? — Lauren M. (posted on July 12, 2009)

I think this is the one I bought last year and never used. Every recipe
made too many servings. I would like to see a book with recipes making 2
servings. I had to buy the book on line so couldn't check it out first.

Yes I bought that book on Amazon, it looks great. I also purchaced
Culinary Classics - Essentials of Cooking for the Gastric Bypass Patient.
I haven't had my surgery yet, still waiting for approval (should come this
week), but I have read these books over and they look great. If you love
to cook and dable in the kitchen then these books are for you. You can go
on Amazon.com and look up the book and take a peek inside, to see if the
recipes are suitable for you.

I am only 7 months out and still get most of my recipes online. I agree
that most other recipes prepare meals for too many. I have also found it
easier to cook for my husband and son in normal fashion and I adapt my
portions because I eat so little at a time. However, overall my entire
family is eating better. No more sugar coated cereal, natural peanut
butter, sugar free applesauce, limited pasta or whole grain and we've added
quiona to our menu as well.
Good luck to you!
