Get an unflavored protein powder and put it in warm (not hot) broth with
some seasonings.

You can also try half a serving to one 8 oz glass and do that twice. It's a
little easier until you get usued to the sweetness. I use it to sweeten
cereals and oatmeal...I use it in my coffee instead of sugar too. I mix
into SF jello.. The unsweetened protein you can get at GNC (In their
brand) or order Unjury online which I have not tried, but heard others love
it.
Good luck...Just make sure you do get your protein! You need it for muscles
and healing and nutrition! I'm not crazy about protein supps either...but I
do what I have to do! :)

You might want to try protein capsules. No taste issues, no bloating.
They're called Capsul-Pro and you can buy them at www.nashuanutrition.com
Good luck!

About the "Protein Capsules" that Jon is recommending.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We believe the product is grossly mislabeled -- that it exaggerates the
amount of protein you are getting by 4 times.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They claim 11 grams of protein (and they do link that amount to the % Daily
Value so they cannot say they mean something different).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But if there were 11 grams of protein in THREE capsules as they claim, the
bottle would weigh more than FOUR TIMES as much as it does.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just thought you would want to know.

Hi Deana, I couldn't stand the shakes either. I ordered Nectar, Fuzzy
Navel flavor and mix it with one packet Crystal Light Lemonade and 10 to 20
oz of water. I recieved it two days after I ordered it. It tastes like
orange juice. Pat

Hi - I have not yet had surgery, but am concerned about this very
issue...I've done a bit of research in anticipation of it and found a
protein drink that has a "chicken soup" flavour. They are great!
Product by HMR, you can by them online...one spot is here:

Isopure clear liquid drinks from GNC are the only protein drinks I drink.
150 cal. and 40 grams of Protein. I don't even think they have much sugar.
I can check.
They come in Icy Orange, Melon, Apple.
Especially once the weather is nice put it on ice... dilute it even and
enjoy.

Everyone is different and can tolorate or not tolorate different protien
sources. I had difficulty with ALL of the protien sources I had found
before surgery, and tried to be prepared by having several different types
on hand. Did not do me any good. If you go to www.barriatriceating.com,
there are a lot of different brands and types of powdered and liquid
protien.
They will ship it to you. You should read labels on anything that you
select (especially from GNC), but Barriatric Eating is run by a lady that
had surgery, so the quality of what they offer is a little better. (At
least in my humble opinion). Good luck to you.
Also, if you must stick with your current source, I agree that diluting it
further - half serving powder mixed with full serving of water - is a good
idea.

Try the unjury products, I just order the chicken soup, and unflavored
protien powder. Mix the soup with warm chicken broth, and I mix the
unflavored powder with unsweeten applesauce, warm tomatoe soup, Wendys
chili, or anything else I can find thats low fat and sugar free. So check
out the site at www.unjury.com it even has some reciepes there to copy
also. I got my first taste of these products at my Drs. presurgery
classes. So good luck...
