Question:
anyone with new insurance policy and they are saying pre-existing

I have sent all my paperwork in to bc/bs of ga but because the policy is new the are saying its pre-exsisting condition has anyone been through this im beginning to worry    — Brigitte Coleman (posted on October 30, 2007)

I have Bc/bs only since April and they approved me! I was worried about it too. But think about it. Of course you were already overweight. Of course it was pre-existing...right?! I just got approved last week...I knew before Emory did. Call the insurance company...they will tell you straight away if it is considered pre-exisisting. Good luck to ya! Lesleigh07

I have BC/BS of NJ and had the same problem. I had to wait a full year and have 6 months of DR. supervised weight loss before the would approve. Once that was out of the way I was approved within 10 days and had a surgery date 4 weeks later! I'm now 5 weeks out and have lost 24 lbs so far. Good luck, Greta

there are many questions i need to know first. did you have other coverage before this insurance? was there a break in coverage? if you had other coverage and no break you need to ask the former insurance for your HIPP to give to your new insurance, first. then nothing you would have would be preexsisting!!nothing......so that would solve the problem. now if you did not have other coverage or a break of more then 90 days then it would be pre exsisting. hopes this helps.... hugs, cougar
