Question:
I have a terrible sore throat
I woke up with a terrible sore throat. I was hoping i could shake it today, but it is still there and now i have chills. I am only 3 weeks out from surgery and was wondering if anyone knew if i could take cold medicine? — missyheffelfinger (posted on March 30, 2007)

If you had lap band you could probably take a liquid medication or I'm sure
you could cut a tylenol up. I was told not to take ibuprofen in a pill
form, I took liquid childrens motrin when I had pain. If you had bypass you
better wait for other replies. Hope you feel better!

Missy,
Tylenol has liquid medication for coughs and colds as well as flu.

I could take pills after 2 weeks and that chloraseptic spray numbs the
throat pretty good. Any Tylenol products are good.

Missy, the only over the counter meds we are banned from are the
anti-inflamitory products (like motrin, advil, etc). But your doctor will
know if you have other things that you personally need to stay away from.
Please call them, especially this early out, you need their advice.
Thanks. Patricia P.

I was told that I could take niquil gel caps. because it is tylonal based.
but you have to clip the ends of the gel caps so that it can be absorbed.
It was a life saver, cause i got the flu two weeks out.
